Mike Gipson served on the Carson City Council before being elected to the California State Assembly in 2014. He currently represents the 65th Assembly District, which encompasses portions of the South Bay region of Los Angeles County, including Compton, Carson, Willowbrook and the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles. Mike Anthony Gipson was born on June 25, 1966. He is an American politician and a Democrat.

Before entering the Assembly, Gipson served on the Carson City Council. That council service preceded his election to the Assembly in 2014.
